MAYES COUNTY, Oklahoma -- Two Mayes County men were killed in separate accidents over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The first fatality occurred Wednesday evening 2 miles west of Salina on Cole Strang Rd.

According to an accident report, 52-year-old Paul Littlefield of Pryor was ejected from his Harley Davidson motorcycle after failing to negotiate a curve.

He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver was not wearing a helmet, the report states.

Friday, a 67-year-old Spavinaw man was killed when he slammed his car into a tree after driving off the highway.

Troopers say Norman James also failed to negotiate a curve, this time on Indian Springs Road 1.5 miles south of Spavinaw.

Troopers say it's not known if James was wearing a seatbelt.
