UNDATED -- Beginning Wednesday and continuing through Sunday, November 28, 2010, The Oklahoma Highway Patrol will again participate in a nationwide traffic enforcement campaign titled "Operation C.A.R.E."
On Wednesday, November 24, there will be at least one state Trooper every 15 miles on Interstate 40 and Interstate 35 across Oklahoma.
"The Thanksgiving holiday period is the most heavily traveled holiday in the United States. During these times, days off are cancelled for all troopers, and every effort is made to insure safety for travelers," said OHP Captain Chris West.
West says this special enforcement campaign is intended to promote a high visibility emphasis and a "No Tolerance" policy for any type of violation.
As a reminder, West says OHP troopers do not issue warnings for seat belt violations.
