Infant Found In Muskogee Walmart Restroom Was Probably Stillborn

MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma -- Muskogee Police say the body of a baby girl was found in a toilet in the women's restroom at a Walmart store in the 1000 block of West Shawnee Tuesday evening.

According to Muskogee Police, Walmart employees found the body shortly after 6 p.m. and immediately notified police.

He said detectives have spoken to the person they believe is the mother of the baby and have turned their preliminary report over to the Muskogee County D.A.'s office. 

District Attorney Larry Moore said the baby's body was taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Tulsa for an autopsy.

Police say it appears the baby was stillborn at the time of birth.

Police said the 23-year-old mother has not been arrested.
