TULSA, Oklahoma – There are two new additions to the snow leopard family at the Tulsa Zoo, zoo officials said Thursday.
Henry and Ateri, born June 8, 2010, are now on exhibit for visitors to see.
Zoo officials were excited to see the cubs' mother, Sherab, immediately start caring for her new babies.
"The mother, from the time they were born, has been very attentive to their many needs: grooming, nursing, keeping them warm if needed, and protecting them if she thought they might be threatened," Dunn said.
Zoo officials said the cubs are already starting to develop their own personalities.
The cubs won't be at the Tulsa Zoo for long. Zoo officials said they already have placements at other zoos. The Tulsa Zoo expects the cubs to be sent to their new homes by the spring of 2011 or possibly as late as next fall.
