SAND SPRINGS, OKLAHOMA -- A $125,000 privately funded skate park is under construction in Sand Springs and should be finished by the end of the year.
The 6,000 square foot park is behind the Case Community Center at 1050 West Wekiwa Road and will be operated by the City of Sand Springs Parks Department.
Native Skateparks, of Silverthorne, Colorado, was selected to build the park.
The site is a storm water retention pond just south of the Community Center, and alongside the River City Trail.
Sand Springs Park Friends raised the money for the project.
