TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- Rain and hail storms may impact Friday night football games especially in areas north and northwest of Tulsa, according to the News On 6 WARN Team.

Several counties are under a tornado watch until 1 a.m. Saturday.  That includes Craig, Nowata, Osage, Ottawa, Pawnee and Washington Counties.

"Storms are likely to develop in the advance of a surface cold front in Kansas this afternoon, and slowly 'back build' south and west into northern Oklahoma by this evening," said News On 6 Meteorologist Nick Bender.

"Large hail, damaging winds and even isolated tornadoes will be possible. Storms could even survive long enough to affect the Tulsa metro late this evening and tonight."

If the front makes it into the Tulsa area it would be during the late evening to about 3 a.m., Chief Meteorologist Travis Meyer said Friday afternoon.

The cold front will bring down temperatures a bit after Friday's return to a three-digit heat index.
