TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- Tulsa Police arrested a 47-year-old Bixby man early Tuesday after officers found an air conditioning unit in the man's pickup truck bed.
At 2 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 4300 block of South Owasso at the Abbey Road Apartments.
A caller told police he saw a man jump over a fence and tamper with the apartment complex's air conditioner units. He then heard the man throw something large over the fence.
The man got into an older model Ford pickup truck and left.
Tulsa Police spotted the pickup truck a short time later parked outside a store in the 4500 block of South Peoria with an A/C unit in the bed.
Police say the driver, Lacy Smith, told them that the unit was junk and a friend said he could take it.
An apartment maintenance man identified the A/C unit as one taken from the apartment complex.
Smith was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County jail on a complaint of burglary.
