The break occurred at 1st and Elgin causing a massive water fountain.

A crew from the public works department was able to turn off the geyser by closing a nearby valve.

The crew had to use a sledge hammer to break up the pavement on 1st Street in order to access the valve.

No word on what impact the break will have on water service to nearby businesses.
