TULSA, OK -- American Airlines says it is still in the process of completing its internal investigation into why seven puppies died after a flight from Tulsa to Chicago last week.

The airline says they are still waiting on the necropsies of the seven puppies.

A spokesperson tells the News On 6, the investigation has been delayed slightly because some of the American employees they need to talk with about the incident were off on vacation.

On August 3rd, American Airlines flight 851 departed Tulsa at 7:30 a.m. and arrived at Chicago's O'Hare Airport at 8:54 a.m.

Airline spokesperson Mary Frances Fagan says the flight was delayed in Tulsa. It was supposed to leave at 6:30 a.m., but was delayed because of storms in Chicago.

American says they hope to have something soon and will make the information public when they do.
