TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa City Council quizzed the mayor Tuesday over his lack of attendance at meetings of city boards.

Bartlett's position puts him on 18 boards and authorities. He told the council he just can't get to all of them, especially since most of them meet on the same two days.

"There, physically, is not enough time to attend all those meetings, prepare for them adequately and still do my day to day job," he said.

Dewey Bartlett said he sends a representative to most meetings instead, but tries to attend on days of important votes.
