Tulsa Man Dies In I-44 Wreck Near Harvard

TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa man is dead after crashing his pickup truck Monday morning at a construction zone on I-44 between Harvard and Yale. 

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the pickup truck was westbound when it struck a concrete barrier, causing the pickup truck to roll over the barrier, landing on its top. 

Troopers say the driver was going too fast and failed to make a curve in the highway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

OHP has identified the victim as 58-year-old Gary Wayne Lasater.

The crash closed the inside eastbound and westbound lanes of I-44 for about an hour while Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews made emergency repairs to the barrier and cleaned up debris.
