TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa apartment building was evacuated late Monday and early Tuesday morning after a resident got into a standoff with police.
The incident started at 8 p.m. Monday at the Silver Springs Apartment near 62nd and 84th East Avenue.
According to Tulsa Police, a resident had come home from a bar and was upset. The father of the suspect told officers his son had a gun and had fired one shot inside the apartment.
When officers arrived to the scene, they say they tried to get the man to come out of the apartment.
When he refused, the police department's Special Operations Team was called in. Police learned the man had several weapons in the apartment, including a rifle.
At about 1 a.m. Tuesday, the man finally gave up and was taken into custody. He was then taken to a Tulsa hospital for evaluation.
No one was hurt.
About 10 residents of the complex were removed from the apartments during the standoff.
