TULSA, OK -- Despite the economy, some eager entrepreneurs are ready to take a chance on Tulsa.

Elizabeth Frame Ellison and more than a dozen others are competing for $30,000 to start a new business in town.

They're semi-finalists for the Spiritbank/Tulsa Community College Entrepreneurial Award and now have to pitch their idea to a panel of judges.

Elizabeth is the brains behind "Hi, Cupcake". She says after graduating law school she couldn't find a job as a public defender. So she decided to do something that makes people happy -- cupcakes.

"We're going to have a "Hi, Cupcake" mobile cupcake van that delivers around town and sells cupcakes sort of like an ice cream truck," she said.

The $30,000 winner will be announced in November. Win or lose, Elizabeth plans to open a store in January.
