Verdigris Forced To Forfeit Girls State Soccer Championship

VERDIGRIS, OK -- Verdigris Schools will forfeit their State 4A girls soccer state championship for 2009-2010 after the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Athletic Association ruled two sisters ineligible.

A total of 33 games was forfeited.

Superintendent Mike Payne described the situation and ruling as "unfortunate and devastating for our team, school and community."
