TULSA, OK -- Tulsa drivers have another reason to slow down in school zones.
At a news conference Tuesday afternoon, Tulsa superintendent Keith Ballard announced an agreement with the city that allows campus police to write tickets on the streets around schools.
TPS officers don't need any additional training and the city provides all of the material. Ballard said the partnership just made sense.
"I think it just shows the public that when you collaborate and work together, that we can do some really good things for the City of Tulsa," he said.
Once a TPS officer writes a ticket, it goes into the court system just like any other ticket and the city gets the money from any fines.
