Congressman Boren Defends Gun Control Ad Against Senator Jim Wilson

TULSA, OK - Congressman Dan Boren says it's not personal. The Congressman is referring to a television commercial he ran attacking his opponent, State Senator Jim Wilson.

As The News On Six reported earlier this week, the ad claims Wilson favors gun control and is considered one of the most liberal politicians in the country.

Boren says he's using gun rights to show he's in touch with his constituents.

"I end up making the extremes on both sides," Representative Boren said. "The far left and the far right get upset with me, but that means I'm in the sweet spot, I'm right in the middle where most people are in Oklahoma."

Boren says he hopes he and Wilson can remain friends, regardless of who comes out on top in the primary election in two weeks.
