RAMONA, OK -- The Cherokee Nation held a grand opening for its brand new casino in Ramona Thursday.
The 10,000 square foot facility boasts more than 200 games and cafe open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The CEO of Cherokee Nation Entertainment said the casino will be a big boost to the local economy, paying more than four million dollars in salaries every year and bringing 100 new jobs.
"It's in a different part of Cherokee County actually and so it kinda rounds out our eight properties," said David Stewart, Cherokee Nation Entertainment CEO. "It's the eighth property that we've opened."
The Ramona casino just opened, but the Cherokee Nation says plans are already in the works to expand.
