ENID, OK (AP) -- Two police captains in Enid have been reinstated after being suspended for six months.
Captains Dean Grassino and Tom Nichols were suspended in December while the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation looked into their testimony during the murder trial of Rudarty Archilta Sr.
The two were suspended by former Police Chief Rick West after Archilta was acquitted.
Testimony by Grassino and Nichols differed from testimony by West and now retired Capt. Randy West regarding a report Randy West had prepared but was not included in the case file.
Custer County District Attorney Dennis Smith declined to file charges against Grassino and Nichols after reviewing the OSBI report on the testimony.
Current Police Chief Brian O'Rourke says the two returned to work Monday.
