TULSA, OK -- Morning show personalities Carly Rush and Steve Smith are no longer the voice of morning radio on KBEZ in Tulsa.
In fact, all the on-air staff at the station has been let go.
Renda Broadcasting announced Thursday that its new format is BOB FM, an automated radio "host" the company calls "the non-radio radio station."
"There will be no local air personalities on BOB FM," said General Manager Jon Phillips.
"The air staff at KBEZ have all been released. These were not layoffs, the new format is built around music and imagery around the Bob character."
Phillips said the move to BOB FM affected seven employees, two full-time. The others were part-time or contract employees.
Steve and Carly have appeared numerous times on Six in the Morning including the "Trading Places" series that put Steve Smith behind the news desk with co-host LeAnne Taylor while Rich Lenz was on the air waves with Carly Rush.
