TULSA, OK -- The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame hosted a premiere Saturday night for 'The Wayman Tisdale Story,' a documentary celebrating Wayman's life and legacy.
Dozens of people showed up to see the documentary, told by Tisdale himself.
The documentary was pieced together using exclusive interviews with Tisdale. He talks about growing up a preacher's son, making it to the NBA, becoming a jazz musician and eventually losing his leg to cancer.
Tisdale's wife says the project has been very hard. In fact, the premiere is the first time she'll see the entire movie.
"I have, of course, him through my children and now a granddaughter, but when you have something on film, you have it forever. So, I think that's very, very cool," said Regina Tisdale, Wayman's wife.
Wayman Tisdale died in May last year after a two year battle with bone cancer.
