GROVE, OK -- Grove Police are searching for a man they say is responsible for the first degree rape by instrumentation of a 14-year-old girl on March 16.
Ted Alan Laymon, 44, may be in the Delaware County area. He is has contacts around Joplin and Branson, Missouri. He is a known user of methamphetamines, police say.
The incident occurred on a county road, according to Lieutenant Mark A. Sheridan of the Grove Police Department.
"Laymon went to the store with the girl and on the way home he drove her down a county road where the incident took place," Sheridan said.
Laymon was interviewed a few days after the alleged rape, and made some admissions though no confession, Sheridan said.
Laymon is a white male, 6'2" in height and 185 pounds. Anyone with information on Laymon is asked to call the Grove Police Department at 918-786-6121 or email sheridan_cid@grovepolice.com.
