Shock, by definition, means a complete surprise. And that's exactly what Tulsa's WNBA team plans to do.
"The consensus among all of us is, no pun intended, we're going to shock a lot of people with the way we come out and play," said Scholanda Robinson, Tulsa Shock.
"The Tulsa Shock is going to provide a tool for economic development for the downtown area, that we so know and love. The sales tax revenue is going to bring into this city, is going to be very appreciated," said Mayor Bartlett.
The newly formed team has a new city, a new mascot and new colors.
"It's a beautiful thing that we were able to come up with, from the standpoint of the colors of the team, yellow, red and black, really is going to stand out," said Coach Nolan Richardson, Tulsa Shock.
While the Oklahoma skies cloud over with storms, expect to see that electrifying yellow all over town, amping up fans for good old fashioned basketball.
"We're a new team, it's new for Tulsa. We're the only team basically in the Midwest playing against the California's and the Chicago's, the New York's," said Richardson.
Coach Richardson says they want to fill the BOK Center full of fans to show the other teams that Tulsa is a force to be reckoned with.

"You are talking about David and Goliath. We're going to play the role of David. Everyone will root for the underdog and that's who we are," said Richardson.
"Being the underdogs, being in the Midwest, being the smallest; everything is being 'the' will give us a chance to really, really fight hard," Richardson said.
