TULSA, OK -- Firefighters say a meth lab caused a fire in downtown Tulsa. Investigators say it was a small operation in an upstairs apartment.

The fire happened at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of East 11th Street.

The suspected meth cook made it out, but has severe burns on his face, hands and arms. Fire crews say his hair was burned off and he couldn't breathe.

He's now in serious to critical condition.

"They've already got a tube down his throat, assisting him breathing. It doesn't look good at this point," said Capt. Bill French, Tulsa Fire Department.

No one else was hurt.
