TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for the death of a 46-year-old woman in 2008.

During a hearing in Tulsa County District Court Monday morning, Judge Clancy Smith concurred with a jury's recommendation and sentenced Thomas Pottorff to prison with credit for time served.

Pottorff was found guilty last month of first-degree manslaughter in the death of Sheila Layton of Tulsa.

Tulsa Police say Pottorff drove nearly 1,000 feet in the median of U.S. Highway 75 before veering into oncoming traffic and into Layton's truck.
