Owasso Church Buys Shoes For Tulsa Elementary Students

OWASSO, OK -- A church in Owasso bought shoes for every student at a Tulsa elementary school.

There were high fives Friday as Greeley Elementary students and teachers thanked the members of Rejoice Church in Owasso. New Nike and Reebok shoes lined the school stage. 

There were basketball shoes for the boys, something sparkly for the girls and enough smiles for everyone.

"I really like that. I appreciate it cause there's a lot of people out there who didn't have shoes at this school, so they probably appreciate it too," said Kaliyah Leddbetter, who is a Greeley Elementary student.

"We had all our families come together and we had kiddos working with parents and going out and purchasing these shoes and it's just so awesome to be here today and actually see the fruits of our labor," said Michelle Hayes, Rejoice Church Owasso.

The kids gathered in an assembly Friday to say thank you.
