TULSA---Play Ball: A History of Baseball in Tulsa is a unique exhibit currently on display at the Tulsa Historical Society.
‘With the new ONEOK Stadium downtown we thought it was the perfect opportunity to display some of that great history, both artifacts and photographs,' said Tulsa Historical Society Director of Exhibits and Education Maggie Brown.
Jane Smith of Tulsa has been going to games since tickets were just a dollar, and has fond memories of attending what once was Texas League Park.
‘I started seeing this man out there all alone, and I was alone,' she said, ‘and so we kind of waved at each other and we kind of got together and started going to the games together and the rest is history, we got married!'
Besides the vintage photographs on display, memorabilia including home-base from Drillers Stadium is being exhibited.
The exhibit will run through March 5th, 2011.
The Tulsa Historical Society is located at 2245 S. Peoria Avenue in Tulsa.
