TULSA, OK -- Honda says it has expanded the retail market for its 2010 Honda Civic GX, a natural-gas powered vehicle or NGV, to include Oklahoma.
According to a news release, Oklahoma has become the fourth regional market to offer the GX to retail purchasers.
Of the 13 Honda dealers in the state, one dealer in Tulsa is already selling the Civic GX to retail customers.
Joe Marina Honda at 91st and Memorial sold 83 last year.
They've have had fleet sales of the Civic GX for several years now.
Mark Sprowuls, the sales manager for the GX model at Joe Marina, says the car is eligible for federal and state tax credits which cuts the base price of $26,000 by up to $7,467 depending upon eligibility.
ONG offers a number of refueling locations in and around the Tulsa area.
The price is roughly $1.50 a gallon for natural gas. But Sprowuls says owners can also purchase compressors that allow them to refuel at home for roughly $1 a gallon.
Oklahoma's production of natural gas is second highest in the nation and the state has a strong network of stations selling CNG.
Oklahoma joins California, New York and Utah to sell the Honda Civic GX to individual customers.
