COLLINSVILLE, OK -- The Rock Gym in Collinsville sponsored a 1,000,000 pound lift and silent auction Saturday to help benefit the family of Jeremiah Mitchell, the 6-year-old Oologah boy recovering from meningitis.
Nearly $5,000 was raised during the benefit.
Jeremiah is undergoing facial reconstruction surgeries at Shriners Children's Hospital in Cincinnati.
His grandmother, Gidget Mitchell, told The News On 6, doctors are pleased with his progress and that the skin grafts are looking good. But she said Jeremiah is still heavily medicated and in a lot of pain.
Jeremiah has already had both of his arms and legs amputated at the Children's Hospital at Saint Francis in Tulsa.

Eighteen people lifted 1.5 million pounds in 64 minutes.
All of the proceeds from Saturday's event will go to the Mitchell family. Checks should be made out to the "Jeremiah Mitchell Fund."
