TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa woman isn't letting a serious accident keep her from a dream.
Kathy Rossman was riding her bike last April when she was hit by a pickup truck. She had just qualified for the Boston Marathon and was excited to run the historic race.
Rossman took baby steps until she was back at full stride. Now, she's getting ready for the 114th running of the race next Monday.
But, she says there's only one reason she has this opportunity.
"Thank goodness I was wearing a helmet because my head did go through the windshield and I didn't sustain any head injuries, and it was solely because of the helmet," said Kathy Rossman, athlete.
Rossman, who is also a nurse, urges everyone to always wear a helmet when riding a bicycle.
