TULSA, OK -- Carmile Chong Hwan Sulvetta, a 47-year-old Tulsa woman charged with conspiracy to commit a felony in the beating death of a Tulsa man received a continuance in her court date Friday.

Sulvetta is suspected of being the mastermind behind a murder that police say originated over attempts to breed bulldogs. The victim, Gary Jones, was beaten to death in his home while his 1-year-old son slept in another room.

Police say Jones borrowed a female bulldog from Sulvetta to breed with his male bulldog. They believe Sulvetta was dissatisfied over how Jones was handling the breeding attempt and sent people over to Jones' house to scare him.
"The five people were sent over to his house to kind of scare him, but they ended up assaulting him and causing his death," said Officer Jason Willingham of the Tulsa Police Department.
The preliminary hearing was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. It was continued from Tuesday, March 23.
The five defendants charged with Jones' murder, James Edward Alexander, Adelso Shadrick Barnes, Jovon Padrick Caldwell, Sabrina Lee Cummings and Shannon Demondes Hunt were also on the court docket for Friday. They also received continuances. New hearing dates were not specified as of Friday afternoon.
