TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Police are seeking the public's help in finding out who stole a 500 pound gun safe from a Tulsa home earlier this month.

Police say between March 3 and March 12, a home in the 5100 block of East 27th Place was burglarized.

The safe contained about 22 pistols, rifles and shotguns. The safe also contained $200,000 in cash that belonged to a close family friend.

Police tell The News On 6, the money belonged to a retired man and wife who had inherited most of the money from a deceased relative. Police say the money was that couple's retirement fund.

The homeowner returned home from a fishing trip early to find his home ransacked and the gun safe stolen.

At this time, Tulsa Police say they have no leads and are hoping someone will call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS with any information.
