NORTH STONINGTON, CONNECTICUT -- A semi tractor truck carrying stage equipment for Carrie Underwood's tour crashed and burned Saturday morning killing an Oklahoma man.
Connecticut State Police say the accident happened on I-95 near North Stonington.
The truck was headed north when it veered off the road which caused the truck's fuel tanks to rupture and ignite, burning the entire rig.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police say the driver's body was charred so badly they have had to use dental records to identify him.
Police say the driver is from Oklahoma, but are waiting until next of kin are notified before releasing his name.
Carrie Underwood performed Saturday night at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut and mentioned the driver's death during her concert. She dedicated her song "Temporary Home" to the driver and his family.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by Connecticut State Police.
