TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa Police Department will be conducting directed patrols this Saturday in preparation for the upcoming Spring Break as well as St. Patrick's Day activities next Wednesday evening.
In a news release from TPD, overtime funding from the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office will pay for police officers as they conduct roving DUI patrols from 7 p.m. until 3 a.m.
The Tulsa Police Department will be focusing on Cherry Street, Brookside and the downtown portions of the city; however this will not stop officer from monitoring other areas that will be providing activities.
Last year, during St. Patrick's Day holiday, the Tulsa Police Department made 3 arrests before midnight of the 17th and 20 arrests after midnight on the 18th of March.
Partygoers are strongly encouraged to think ahead and DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE.
Tulsa Police say they want to reduce collision and arrest impaired drivers who threaten other drivers and their passengers.
