TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa program that helps veterans who get in trouble with the law and those like it, will get some national attention Monday evening.
Veterans Treatment Court has been a huge success in Tulsa County during its first year.
Veterans charged with non-violent, drug, or alcohol related offenses are sent there and given a chance to avoid jail, by going through a tough boot camp-like program instead.
So far, more than 50 veterans have been helped.
Tulsa's Veterans Court was only the fourth one like it in the entire country when it began last year.
Three people from Tulsa's program will go to Washington next week to help write the curriculum for a national program.
