Claremore Woman Charged In Fatal 2009 Wreck

WAGONER, OK -- A 48-year-old Claremore woman has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a traffic fatality accident on November 7th in Wagoner County. 

The crash happened in the 22800 block of East 71^st Street near Broken Arrow. 

Dena Harl is charged with the death of 40-year-old Patrick Northcott of Broken Arrow. 

Authorities say Harl's vehicle crossed the center line and struck Northcott's vehicle head-on. 

Northcott died the next month from injuries he received in the crash. 

In court paperwork, authorities say officers investigating the accident smelled alcohol on Harl's breath and that blood tests after the wreck indicated Harl tested positive for benzodiazepines. 

Harl remains in the Wagoner County jail on a $250,000 bond.
