TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Police responded to a home invasion in the 1600 block of South Gary Avenue at about 2:15 p.m. Friday.

An married couple was inside the home when police say five people broke in and robbed them. Police say the invaders demanded cash and guns and then pistol-whipped the couple.

"The front door was closed, but it was unlocked," said Corporal Chris Bauer of the Tulsa Police Department.

The man and wife were transported to a local hospital. On scene reports are that both were injured but that their injuries are not life-threatening.

Police at the scene said that the suspects took a few items including a television set from the home then left in a blue Honda. They were described as four males and one female.

Police say the couple had a car stolen a couple of days ago and have a grandchild who is connected to drugs. Police say the two victims are in their mid-60s.

The incident is under investigation.
