TULSA, OK -- The state's first ever free dental clinic got underway Friday morning. Fourteen hundred people lined up at the Tulsa Convention Center to take part in day one of the clinic.
The clinic is being hosted by The Oklahoma Mission of Mercy. Volunteers have been working long hours to turn the Convention Center into a dental clinic. There are 90 chairs on the floor to treat patients, plus a special area for children.
The clinic is offering everything from cleanings to root canals, even dentures.
The goal is to treat 1,600 people between Friday and Saturday.

Susan King had been waiting in line since 5 p.m. Thursday. She says having this free clinic is a big blessing.
"I think it's wonderful. To be able to come and know you can get some help without taking every last penny that you have," King said.
People were already lining up Friday morning for Saturday's clinic. The doors open at 5 a.m. at the Convention Center.
The Oklahoma Dental Association and the Delta Dental of Oklahoma Charitable Foundation are co-sponsors of the event.
