Oklahoma City Police Officer Shoots, Kills Man Outside Medical Facility

OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma City police officer has shot and killed a man outside a medical facility in northwest Oklahoma City.

Capt. Patrick Stewart says the man was shot shortly after 8 a.m. Monday by one of two officers responding to reports of a fight inside Human Performance Center.

No names have been released. Stewart says one officer is a training officer and the other a recruit.

Stewart says witnesses reported the man fought with both officers and tried to take their weapons. He says the fight went from inside the facility into the parking lot area where the man reportedly grabbed the recruit's gun and the training officer opened fire -- killing the man at the scene.

Stewart said it is not known how many times the officer fired or where the man was hit.
