TULSA, OK -- Twilight star Jackson Rathbone will be in Tulsa Monday – but not as an actor (or a vampire, for that matter).
The 25-year-old Rathbone, who plays Jasper Cullen in the Twilight movies, will be performing with his band "100 Monkeys" at the Cain's Ballroom on Monday. The band plays a mixture of blues, rock and funk, according to a press release. Their latest album is called Grape, released in December.
Band members take turns playing different instruments and lead vocals, a style they call "the Monkey Switcheroo."
Grape was written during the group's tour of the United States.
"We wrote songs as we caravanned cross-country, we recorded songs standing in piles of pillows in the middle of a living room, and we worked with countless amazing people to make it all happen," Rathbone said.
The group will hold a 3 p.m. "meet and greet" at Tulsa's Ida Red, a rock and roll boutique located at 33rd and Peoria.
"This will be a great way for their fans to connect with the band on a personal level," said store manager Angelene Ripley Wright.
Doors open for their performance at 7 p.m. with opening act Wighead scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
