TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa Health Department inspectors say roaches at a Tulsa high school have prompted the school to stop cooking food in part of their kitchen area.

The school is Nathan Hale High School at 6960 East 21st Street.

Melanie Christian with the Tulsa Health Department says they recommended Hale High School voluntarily shut down one area of the school's kitchen where they cook the meals until the problem is fixed.

That inspection was on Monday.

School officials opted to have pizza brought in to serve to the students Tuesday and Wednesday.

Christian says the school district is spraying and the health department is working with the district to resolve the problem.

She says the district can still serve cold foods or cater in.

Nathan Hale High School is closed Thursday and Friday because of the weather.
