TULSA, OK -- With extremely cold temperatures in the forecast, a viewer e-mailed The News On 6 asking how she could lend a helping hand to those in need.
You can give the gift of warmth this winter by donating to Project Warmth.
Project Warmth collects new or gently used blankets, quilts and comforters to benefit our neighbors in need.
Since 2004, more than 18,000 blankets have been donated and distributed by Project Warmth. Project Warmth is a partnership between The News on 6, LaMode Cleaners, Western Sun Federal Credit Union, Volunteers of America Oklahoma, Mathis Brothers Furniture and Ferguson Superstore.

After donating blankets, LaMode Cleaners will clean and mend them and Volunteers of America Oklahoma will distribute them to area shelters, agencies and individuals.
Blankets will be accepted January 1st - 31st, 2010.
If you need a blanket or know of someone who does, call Volunteers of America at 918-307-1500.

You can also help those in need by donating new or gently used coats.
For more than 20 years, generous donations to Giles' Coats for Kids have put coats on thousands of Oklahomans and the need is even greater this year.
Here's how you can help: Take new or gently used children or adult-sized coats to any Yale Cleaners location. They will clean and mend the coats and Catholic Charities will distribute them to those in need.
If you need a coat, call Catholic Charities at 949-HOPE or visit the Giles' Coats for Kids Distribution Center at the new Catholic Charities location, 2450 North Harvard. Please bring a form of ID for each family member who needs a coat.
