SKIATOOK, OK -- On the coldest days of winter, someone somewhere will try to test the thermal conductivity of metal.

Will your tongue really stick to the metal flag pole?

In Teresa Clements 2nd-grade class at Marrs elementary in Skiatook, it is their big party before the holiday break but the party is not what got us here.

You know the scene from A Christmas Story where the kid sticks his tongue to the flag pole, that is what got us here.

It happened last week here at Marrs Elementary, our little would-be physicist, testing thermo dynamics, is Jaydun Seaba. He, his Dad and I headed outside to the flag pole so he could show me what he did. He said it happened last Tuesday morning when it was really cold.

"I went like ahh," said Jaydun.

And it stuck; he did not think it would.

He said it would not come off so he ripped it off, then someone said go see nurse Amy.

Nurse Amy is Amy McQuay.

"He had a bleeding tongue," McQuay said.

Did it bleed really bad?

"No, just three dots," McQuay said.

McQuay told him there really was not much she could do but it would heal.

His dad said Jaydun's never seen the movie A Christmas Story, probably would not have made any difference.

"He adventurous, no telling what my boy will do, he love to test the water and see what things will do," Jaydun's father said.

Jaydun thinks he may have left a little bit of himself on the flag pole.

"So you don't want to do it again?" I asked Jaydun.

"Uh-huh," he replied.

"I triple dog dare ya," just kidding....
