TULSA, OK -- The FBI says the latest Tulsa bank heist is the work of a serial bank robber who hits branches across the country.
The suspect is an older man who doesn't do much to hide his identity.
Tulsa Police say he is wanted for at least nine robberies in more than a half-dozen states since April of 2009.
According to the FBI, the unidentified man is connected to robberies in Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, New York and Virginia.
The FBI's wanted poster informally refers to the robber as "grandad" in its internet address.
Tulsa Police have warned their counterparts in Oklahoma City that he may strike there next.
He is also suspected of attempting to rob a bank in Fort Smith, Arkansas Thursday afternoon.
The man robbed the Valley National Bank at 2020 East 21st Street at about 10:15 a.m. Friday, police say.
Sergeant Dave Walker said the man entered the bank and asked for a specific amount of money, similar to the robbery at the same branch earlier this year. The teller counted out the undisclosed amount of cash and the man put it into a blue checkbook-like folder.
The suspect is described as between 50 and 60 years old with a light mustache, about 6'2" and weighing between 230-240 pounds. He was wearing a black hat, green "aviator style" jacket and blue jeans.
He was last seen walking westbound on 21st Street.
It's the 29th robbery of a financial institution in Tulsa this year.
The Fort Smith Police Department contacted Sergeant Walker with an additional photo of the suspect. Fort Smith Police say the man attempted to rob a bank in their city on Thursday.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers, the Robbery Hotline at 918-527-0085 or the local FBI Office at 918-664-3300.
The 21st Street location was the site of Tulsa's first bank robbery of the year in January 2009.
