TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa Fire Department responded to a small metal building on fire at Bishop Kelley High School at around 2:40 p.m. The building is near the gymnasium.
The building was used as a weight room. Upon arrival firefighters encountered heavy black smoke coming from the building. The heavy smoke may have been caused by rubber floor covering.
According to an administrator at Bishop Kelley, no one was injured in the fire.
The Fire Department confirmed the building had no occupants at the time, but the school was evacuated as a precaution.
A maintenance man informed the Fire Department that he had just moved a golf cart that had electrical problems into the building.
According to the Fire Department, the cause of the fire is still being investigated but is pointing toward the faulty electrical wiring in the golf cart.
The contents of the building are a total loss.
