Award-winning CBS journalist Byron Pitts is paying a visit to Tulsa.
Pitts is the keynote speaker for the Tulsa Association of Black Journalists' Oklahoma Salute to Excellence Awards.
He'll talk about his book "Step Out On Nothing" and share his journey from being a functionally illiterate kid to a national news correspondent.
This morning, he spoke on the web to our Latoya Silmon and told her that with enough faith, anything is possible.
"I know the people in Tulsa believe that. It's a community with a rich history - good people so I look forward to being in that part of the country, having a couple of good meals while I'm there and
fellowshipping with good people," Pitts said.
You can hear from Byron Pitts tomorrow evening at seven at Tulsa Community College's new Center for Creativity at 910-South Boston Ave. Tickets are 50 dollars.
