TULSA, OK -- Lisa Regan started Garden Deva Sculpture Company after finding her passion for sculpting whimsical artworks from metal. Now her art is capturing attention worldwide and her midtown studio has five employees dedicated to spreading her message of art with heart.
"Deva means happy spirit," said Lisa. "So the intention of the work is that it brings happiness to people in their garden."
Lisa cuts the sculptures from sheets of iron. Then they are painted, welded and finished into gates, screens or the free-standing sculptures seen in gardens throughout Oklahoma and the world.
"A lot of my work goes into schools because kids relate to that whimsical, deva spirit," Lisa said. "When we make the work, because we’re artists, we make it with love. I think that’s a little bit of difference in my studio than if you went to a fabricator is that we’re working not only the craft and with our hands and we’re also working with our heart."
Lisa teaches her sculpting style to interested students at Garden Deva Sculpture Company’s studio and store located at 317 South Trenton in Tulsa.
