CLAREMORE, OK -- Will Rogers said he never met a man he didn't like, but if he were alive today, he may have had a change of heart with some thieves at the museum which bears his name.
The Will Rogers Museum and Memorial will have to replace several surveillance cameras. Thieves or vandals got up on the roof, cut wires and either damaged or took four of the cameras.
Claremore police are investigating.
Investigators aren't sure what the motives were, but hate to think what might have happened if someone had gotten inside the museum.
"Certainly have a security system, certainly police would be alerted to it immediately but nevertheless anyone can do possibly do some very significant damage within a very quick time," said Museum Director Steven Gragert.
The museum will reposition other cameras to make sure they can't be reached.
