OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is reviewing video of a high speed chase after an OHP trooper is seen striking the suspect as he is being placed into custody.
A motorcycle driver ran from troopers for nearly half an hour in Pottawatomie County on Monday.
The motorcyclist finally surrenders and a trooper approaches with his gun drawn.
Seconds later, you'll see a second trooper approach, and put his knee into the man's back. The trooper then strikes the suspect's back with his fist.
The two OHP troopers then place the man into custody.
"The strike was not beyond anything I view as necessary to affect that arrest. It gained compliance without any injury to the suspect," said OHP Major Rusty Rhoades.
The OHP trooper in the video remains on duty.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigators say the chase started after the motorcyclist ran a stop sign.
