TULSA, OK -- He didn't set any world records, but Flash sure lived up to his name, smokin' the competition.

Saturday is the 40th annual Zoo Run, and on Wednesday, the Tulsa Zoo's Aldabra tortoises got in on the action.

Turns out, an orange on a string and some chopped fruit at the finish line was all the motivation Flash needed. He outraced opponents Turbo and Diablo.

And he even shared the spoils of victory.

Two-legged contestants can race to New Balance Tulsa and Tulsa Zoo or go to tulsazoo.org to register online for the Zoo Run. Packet pick-up and pre-registration will be at New Balance Tulsa in Utica Square through October 2 during regular store hours.

Race day registration begins at 7 a.m. Oct. 3 though the registration cost is lower if runners and walkers pre-register.
