TULSA--Donald Cox knew it was a bit late in the season when he threw Black Diamond watermelon seeds out by his fence. But he was surprised to find one of the plants had done something amazing to his fence.

'Watermelon vines just go wherever they want to and they put out little tendrils that wrap themselves around things,' he explained, 'the watermelon in the fence came about because the vine literally climbed the fence and it just happened that that was the one place that it bloomed and produced a watermelon.'

The catalope-sized watermelon won't be harvested, Donald is just going to live it's life out stuck in his fence.
